'Your Home' By Bill Deasy

Writing the lyrics to his new song, "Your Home," local musician Bill Deasy says he reflected on people he knows and his own experience. Deasy says he "decided to write a story which I find to be pretty common around here: the story of someone leaving then being drawn back – called by the rivers."

COMPLETE LYRICS TO "YOUR HOME"
An original song by Bill Deasy

You had your suitcase packed
The diamond-studded railroad track
Was calling you to run
But somewhere on the way
You realized you'd gone astray
And headed back from where you'd come
The Pennsylvania Turnpike was
Returning you to where you had begun

Turn around,
Take a look at all you found
Here you are home
This is your home
Smiling faces,
Old familiar places
Of your home
This is your home
This is your home

A thousand bridges cross
Rivers where the wars were fought
In the centuries before
Through the gentle rain
Somebody calls your name
As you stand upon the shore
The city lights shoot out into the night
Announcing wonders to explore

Turn around,
Take a look at all you found
Here you are home
This is your home
Smiling faces,
New familiar places
Of your home
This is your home
This is your home

And you really wouldn't want to change her
All the hillside streets and friendly neighbors
And no one ever quite a stranger

Turn around,
Take a look at all you found
Here you are home
This is your home
Smiling faces,
New familiar places
Of your home
This is your home
This is your home…

Never fear
The gray skies always clear above your home
This is your home

Turn around,
And take a look at everything
Everything
This is your home...
