Pa. Woman Seeks Move Of Trial In Husband's Murder
BELLEFONTE, Pa. (AP) ―
The attorney for a central Pennsylvania woman accused of planning her husband's murder is asking a judge to either move the trial or bring in jurors from elsewhere.
Twenty-seven-year-old Mirinda Boob and 29-year-old Ronald Heichel, of Bellefonte, are charged with first-degree murder in the death of 29-year-old Samuel Boob. The father of four was shot to death Aug. 23 in the garage of his Centre County home.
Boob's attorney, Ed Blanarik, says news outlets as far away as North Dakota ran stories about the case, and the "pervasive" coverage makes it impossible for his client to get a fair trial. Blanarik is also seeking dismissal of the charges, alleging that Heichel acted alone and his client had no idea what was going to happen to her husband.
Authorities have alleged that Mirinda Boob planned the murder and text messages link her with Heichel, who is accused of shooting the victim.
