Man Knocked Across Diner As SUV Plows Through Wall

Wilkesboro, N.C. (CBS) ― A North Carolina man having a peaceful meal in a coffee shop found himself violently tossed from his booth and into the bar when an out-of-control SUV plowed into the building.

Kenneth Mack Anderson was the unlucky diner sitting in the Coffee House and Waffle Shop in Wilkesboro when he found himself suddenly surrounded by flying debris and a van bearing down on his table.

Surprisingly, Anderson was able to pull himself out of the wreckage and put his hat back on. He suffered no broken bones, but has lots of bruises and cuts.

Anderson doesn't remember everything that happened, but he's grateful to be alive. "Thank the Lord I'm here," he said. "I mean, I don't really know how I survived to tell you the truth."

"It was just totally wild," said Rosie Minton, Director of Operations at the Coffee House. "I had never seen anything like that in my whole life."
