College Student Wins Millions On Penny Slots

Thought She Had Only Won Thousands

BOSTON (CBS) ― From poor college student to a multi-millionaire. That's the story of one Bunker Hill College student after she hit big on the slot machines at Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut with her family on Sunday.

According the casino, Shana Kelley, 21, of Somerville, Mass. was playing a penny slot machine game when she won $3.5 million.

"I did not realize I won millions, I thought it was thousands," Kelley told representatives from Mohegan Sun. "I started to shake, (my) mom was going nuts."

Kelley said she had put about $100 into the machine before hitting the jackpot.

Although she has not yet received her winnings, she told the Boston Globe she has already hired a lawyer and a financial planner.

So what does Kelley plan on spending part of her millions on? A baby blue Cadillac Escalade and a house, the paper reported.

And yes, she does plan on finishing school.
