New Airline Exclusively For Pets To Open In Colo.
"Pet Airways" To Make Trips To NYC, Chicago, D.C., L.A.
DENVER (AP) ―
If you think airlines are going to the dogs -- you're right. A new airline is starting up in Colorado just for dogs and cats.
Pet Airways will start offering flights across the country next week, including flights to New York, Chicago, Baltimore/Washington International and Los Angeles.
Pets will travel in their own carriers in the main cabin, not in the cargo hold as with most airlines. But owners aren't allowed on board and must fly separately.
Pet attendants will care for the animals in flight but there won't be any beverage or snack service. The company wants to make sure no pets get sick during the flight.
Co-founder Alysa Binder says all flights are sold out for the first month and a half.
