The Meadows Casino and Racetrack in Washington County has had a sensational first year of operation.

The Meadows grossed $231 million - more than twice what they were expecting.

The casino attributes the success to good customer relations.

"We do a lot of marketing, we do a lot of of giveaways - we give away free play," General Manager Michael Graninger said.

It's the only casino in southwestern Pennsylvania right now since Pittsburgh's slots casino has faced delays.

The profits for The Meadows are expected to grow once the permanent casino opens next year.
