Palin Signs New Book In Washington County

NORTH STRABANE TOWNSHIP (KDKA) ― It has been more than a year since former Governor of Alaska Sarah Palin visited the area back when she was on the campaign trail as a Vice-Presidential candidate.

But she returned today to sign copies of her new book that talks about her life and her experience in the 2008 presidential campaign.

Some Palin supporters camped out overnight outside the Sam's Club in North Strabane Township in Washington County for the chance to meet her.

"Anyone who's willing to change our country, and try and fight back for good values is someone worth seeing to me," said Kara Peters, a local Palin supporter.

By early morning, the crowd had grown to well over 1,000 people.

The McCain-Palin ticket swept Washington County in last November's election and the county has now become one of many stops that Palin is making to do book signings.

"I think she represents what we as women would like to aspire to be," said Nike Mullinix, another Palin supporter.

Palin was set to sign about 2,000 copies of her books, "Going Rogue - An American Life," today. And everyone waiting agreed that standing in line was worth it to get to meet her.

"Fabulous, worth every fifteen hours I spent sitting in the cold," said one Palin supporter.

Inside the store, Palin greeted her supporters and autographed copies of the book.

Another supporter, Tracie Squib, said this meeting was better than the first time she met the former Alaska Governor.

"She's very personable, very talkative, asked lots of questions, wanted to know who we were," she said.

Some supporters said they hope the public can now get to know who Palin really is though the pages of her book.
