DA May Seek Death Penalty In Marianna Murders

WASHINGTON, PA (KDKA) ― Local officials say they may seek the death penalty in their case against a Washington County man who's accused of murdering his estranged wife and two young children.

Orlando Guarino, 38, is charged with suffocating Ashley Guarino, 22, and their children, Dreux, 2, and Orlando, 11-months.

After an all-day search, state police arrested Guarino around 3:30pm yesterday, near the city of Washington.

A relative found the bodies at the family's home in Marianna late Wednesday night.

Friends say Guarino was abusive to his wife; and she got a protection from abuse order after their recent separation.

A judge granted Ashley Guarino temporary custody of the children; but Orlando Guarino was permitted to see them on supervised visits.

According to an affidavit, Guarino said if his wife ever left and took the children, he would "kidnap them and take Ashley out and take the kids out, and no one would be able to have them."
