Woman From Eighty Four Drowned In Atlantic Ocean

LAUDERDALE-BY-THE-SEA, Fla. (KDKA) ― A spring vacation to Florida turned tragic for a family from Washington County.

Police in Broward County say Mary Darnley, 58, of Eighty Four, drowned in the Atlantic Ocean over the weekend.

According to authorities, Darnley and her husband had been Scuba diving off the coast of Lauderdale-by-the-Sea near Fort Lauderdale.

Darnley drowned as the pair tried to swim back to shore.

The coroner has ruled her death an accident.
