More Tips From Super Shopper Teri Gault
(KDKA)
One woman says it is possible to get a price break on the things that you buy, and all you have to do is ask for it. Here are some more tips from super shopper, Teri Gault:
1. When buying a floor model. This is standard practice when it comes to appliances and electronics.
2. When the item or its packaging has been damaged. Retailers know that people expect a product to be perfect if they're paying full price, and will discount an item if it's not.
3. When in buying in quantity. Teri says most retailers will give you a discount if you're buying more than one of something.
4. During a slow sales period. Think windows or a new roof in February, or a new car at the end of the model year.
5. When there's a sale on the same item in another store or on-line. Many stores offer price-matching, but even if they don't it's worth showing the other store's flier and asking for the same price.
6. At the end of the shopping season. Think bicycle in November or skis in March.
