The NYPD is looking for a hit-and-run driver whose apparent crime was caught on camera last weekend.
The video, posted first on LiveLeak.com, is as disturbing as it is authentic. It documents a loud drunken fight in the street outside a parking garage at about 5:30 a.m. on Feb. 3.
It shows pedestrians, one of them without a shirt, struggling with each other, shouting and apparently arguing with the drivers of several vehicles attempting to leave the parking garage.
The really disturbing part comes when a white SUV that appears to be a Cadillac Escalade suddenly bolts the scene by driving across the sidewalk pinning and then running over one of the pedestrians.
A woman's screams can be heard as the large vehicle passes over the man who can be seen lying on his back. A doorman at a nearby building confirmed to CBS station WCBS-TV in New York that the injured pedestrian had broken kneecaps and dislocated hips from the incident.
The NYPD has confirmed there is an investigation underway.
