Teenage Girl Allegedly Assaulted On Bus
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ―
Greyhound bus officials credit their drivers for reacting quickly in a pair of sexual assaults over the last couple of weeks.
For the second time in two weeks, an arrest was made for sexual assault on a bus. The suspect has been charged with sexual assault.
"We have what is called an on-board communications system in most of our fleet," Folmnsbee said. "The driver has at the touch-of a-button communications with local authorities through 911 and also with our dispatch here in Dallas depending on the situation and who they need to get in touch with."
Police were waiting for a man at the Monroeville Turnpike Exit toll booth after he allegedly sexually assaulted a 16-year-old girl on a Greyhound bus.
The girl was somehow able to get word to the bus driver who then called the police.
"Our drivers are trained to enforce what we call our zero-tolerance policy," said Greyhound spokesperson Anna Folmnsbee. "That is a policy dedicated to keeping our passengers safe on board as well as in the terminals."
The man is being held in the Allegheny County Jail.
On July 18, a Cincinnati man was charged with sexually assaulting a 17-year-old male while on a Greyhound bus.
John Johnson, 30, was charged with befriending the juvenile and then sexually assaulting him while on the bus on I-76 near the Allegheny County/Westmoreland County line.
The suspect's name and specific details of the incident have not been released.
