Mercer Co. Plane Crash Victim Identified

JAMESTOWN, Pa. (KDKA) ― Officials have identified the pilot killed in a small plane crash in Mercer County.

The coroner's office reports Daniel Lloyd, 37, from Hermitage, died on impact when his plane went down in a cornfield around 8:30 a.m. Friday near the Greenville Airport.

The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating.

The small plane crashed in Greene Township on Route 58 in Jamestown, Pa.

Local fire officials report that the plane wrecked shortly after taking off.  Lloyd was the only person onboard.

State Route 58 was closed so officials could visit and investigate the scene.  Officials say no vehicles were involved in the incident.

Lloyd leaves behind his wife, Trisha, and two children, Becca and Cameron.
