Trafford Borough Takes Sidewalk Problem To Court

TRAFFORD (KDKA) ― A community in Westmoreland County is going to court because of problems with their sidewalks.

On East Gilmore Avenue in Trafford Borough, sidewalks are raised and irregular in front of dozens of homes.

The uneven surfaces have become a problem, causing the borough council to file a lawsuit against Equitable Gas. The community blames underground gas lines for the problem.

Reacting to the borough's lawsuit, an Equitable spokesman flatly denied the claim, saying the last time his company worked in Traffored was in 1980.

The spokesman added that the company went out after receiving some complaints and saw nothing that would indicate the problem was created by Equitable Gas.
