Injured Duquesne Player's Visits 'Inspirational'

Men's Basketball Team To Play First Game Since September 17 Shootings

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― The Duquesne University Men's Basketball team will play its first game since an on-campus shooting injured five of the team's players.

Starting tonight, metal detectors will be at all of the men's basketball team home games.

The team will take the court without two of its forwards, Stuard Baldonado and Sam Ashaolu, two of the five players injured after gunfire broke out after a school dance.

Ashaolu, who was the most seriously injured player with multiple gunshot wounds to the head, made visits to practice all week long.

He continues to go through rehab.

His teammates say he has been an inspiration.

"Just to see him in the gym and … trying to do the rehab and trying to get back and help the team is definitely motivating," said Bryant McAllistar, a former Duquesne basketball player.
