Duquesne Univ. Basketball Player Suspended

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― One of the five members of the Duquesne University Men's Basketball team wounded in an on-campus shooting last year has been suspended from the school.

Stuard Baldonado, a junior, was suspended because he apparently violated the university's "code of student rights, responsibilities and conduct," according to a press release from Duquesne's athletic department.

The Associated Press reports Baldonado was charged with criminal conspiracy involving the manufacture, delivery or possession of a controlled substance on August 31.

Baldonado filed a lawsuit against the university in April because he believed there wasn't adequate security at the dance where he was wounded in September of 2006.
