Steelers RB Involved In Apparent Domestic Dispute
by Bob Allen
CLEVELAND (KDKA) ―
Cleveland Police say an apparent custody dispute lead to an altercation between Steelers Running Back Najeh Davenport and the mother of his 5-year-old son.
The trouble apparently started when Davenport went to pick up his son and told the woman that he was filing for full custody of the boy.
According to authorities, Davenport had court paperwork stating that he could pick up his son for visitation.
Davenport told a Cleveland television station that the woman, identified as Anita Person, pulled his son out of the vehicle and ran.
Witnesses claimed there was a physical scuffle and assault,.
Davenport, however, says he never touched the woman and only retrieved his child.
Police did not arrest Davenport and authorities say no charges will be filed.
