A major construction project is set to close down part of a busy Downtown street for five months.
Starting on Monday, Stanwix Street will close between Fort Duquesne Boulevard and Penn Avenue for work on the North Shore Connector.
The closure will start at 6am and last until mid-December to accommodate a tunnel boring machine.
The northbound and southbound traffic will be detoured to Fort Duquesne Boulevard, Commonwealth Place or Liberty Avenue. The sidewalks along Stanwix Street will remain open, and a pedestrian walkway will be available to allow people to safely cross Stanwix Street.
Stay with KDKA for the latest on this story.
