Actress Sienna Miller, who is in Pittsburgh working on a big-screen movie, made a rather off-color remark about the 'burgh in Rolling Stone magazine.
However, late today, she tried to explain what she really meant.
"I didn't mean anything," said Miller. "I apologize profusely for any offense I caused."
Sienna Miller is going over board with her apology to the city and people of Pittsburgh after giving our city a new name that rhymes with a four letter word.
"It's easy in print to make or twist thinks and to take things out of context," stated Miller.
She made that public apology in between shooting here on location with Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl.
"She enjoys Pittsburgh and I'm sure she was taken out of context," said Ravenstahl. "Her family has a place in Meadville, so they're familiar with the area."
The controversy started when Rolling Stone published the nasty remarks while she was filming the movie "The Mysteries of Pittsburgh."
"We've been shooting nights for most of this film and that means working from 7 p.m. to 7 in the morning and sleeping all day," said Miller. "And I was more referring to the fact that I haven't had the opportunity to see the city."
But-- the Brit bombshell is no stranger to controversy.
Her on and off-again relationship with actor Jude Law hit the tabloids after he was caught cheating on her with his kids' nanny in 2004.
While she may forgive Jude Law, will Pittsburghers be as forgiving for her indiscretion.
"I don't think that's appropriate saying it while you're here," said Breanne Hindman of Pittsburgh.
Tim Gilliam of Homestead added, "That's not right. It's a good city. A lot of history here -- a lot of good things happen here."
But others like Josie Roberts, editor of the Trib P.M. tried to change her mind by showing her a good time.
"We took her on the incline," said Roberts. "We took her and got some Primanti Sandwiches. We hung out in Market Square for a while."
So now, has Miller really changed her mind about the 'burg?
"I'm not sure," added Roberts. "We're waiting on the final verdict. We're going to go out on the Strip tonight and then get some feedback."
