Steelers' Holmes Freed On Bond
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ―
Santonio Holmes has been released from jail on $3,500 bond.
The Steelers first round draft pick Santonio Holmes is back in Pittsburgh after he was arrested on charges of domestic violence.
The victim, who is the mother of his child, says Holmes grabbed her, knocked her to the floor and slammed her into a door.
She called police and Holmes was arrested a short time later.
Hours later she appeared at his arraignment asking the judge to let him go.
"His girlfriend, or mother of his child came into court, said she's not afraid of him, doesn't want him locked up, wants him out, doesn't want a temporary protection order," said attorney Sam Shamansky.
The arrest was Holmes' second since he was drafted in April.
In May, he was picked up for disorderly conduct in Miami during a Memorial Day sweep.
At the time, 600 others were arrested as well.
