Three Peregrine Falcons To Get Banded

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― Three peregrine falcons hatched at the University of Pittsburgh are getting banded this morning.

The young falcons will get identification bracelets on their legs to help experts track and research the species.

The Western Pennsylvania Conservatory built a nest box in 2002 at the top of the Cathedral of Learning for peregrine falcons.

Earlier this week, five peregrine falcons that were on top of the Gulf Tower downtown were banded.
