Local Star Signs First NFL Contract
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ―
Former Hopewell and Penn State star linebacker Paul Posluszny can now concentrate on what he does best and that's playing football.
The Buffalo Bills second-round pick has signed a four-year deal potentially worth $5 million. This means Posluszny will be in camp this morning for the first day of Bills training camp and it will allow him to compete for a starting spot on the Bills defense.
The Hopewell native's new contract includes $2.55 million in guaranteed money and is worth $4.75 million overall. It also includes $325,000 in incentive clauses.
Posluszny knows the importance of reporting to camp on-time. "Being a second-rounder, I don't think you should have that luxury," he explains. "You've got to be in camp on time, especially being a rookie.......You can't show up late and expect to be on the same page as all the older guys."
Posluszny's family and friends will get a chance to see him return to Western Pennslyvania.
The Bills will travel to Heinz Field (Sept 16, 1 PM, KDKA-TV) to open up the Pittsburgh Steelers 2007 home schedule.
