The North Shore Connector project is moving forward now that essential parts of the tunnel boring machine have arrived in Pittsburgh.
The machine will construct holes under the Allegheny River.
Smaller components of the machine began arriving last week all the way from Germany.
The massive tunnel boring machine will now be assembled and lowered into the launch pit over the next two and a half months.
Crews say tunneling is set to begin in late October or early November.
