Charges Filed Against Steelers' Najeh Davenport

CLEVELAND (KDKA) ― Misdemeanor charges have been filed by Cleveland Police against Pittsburgh Steelers running back Najeh Davenport after he got into a domestic dispute over the custody of his 5-year-old son.

Davenport faces charges of domestic violence, endangering children and unlawful restraint.

Davenport got into an argument with 27-year-old Anita Person, the child's mother, on October 4 when he went to pick up his son and told her he was filing for full custody of the boy.

According to authorities, Davenport had court paperwork stating that he could pick up his son for visitation.

Cleveland Police say if Davenport is convicted, he could face a maximum of $2,500 in fines and 420 days in jail.
