Casino Coming To Meadows In Washington Co.
MEADOWS (KDKA) ―
While we may have to wait a little longer to see a casino here in Pittsburgh, slots are expected to be coming to Washington County by the end of May.
The roof was just lowered onto one of the three peaks of the Meadows Casino.
The owner of Cannery Casino Reports, Bill Paulos say that there will be 1,800 slot machines that will go into the temporary facility, as well as a lounge area, and a 300-seat restaurant.
A permanent casino is going up just across the street from the temporary building. And that is expected to hold as many as 3,000 slot machines.
That casino is projected to open in early 2009.
And, right now, local officials are hoping that the casino will start bring in the dough.
"We think it's going to be a couple million dollars a year," says Bracken Burns, the Washington County Commissioner, "which is quite a lot of money."
