Investigators hope surveillance video will help them find a suspect in the shooting death of a deli clerk in Mt. Oliver.
Police say 28-year-old Jamal Mouzaffar, a native of Syria, was shot sometime before 9 a.m. at the A & E Deli Food Mart on Brownsville Road.
He was later pronounced dead at Mercy Hospital.
Mouzaffar was working at his uncle's store while he was in the United States to get a new prosthetic leg.
His aunt, Marcy Mouzaffar, is heartbroken.
"He came to this country for help, and you go home not breathing. It doesn't make sense," she says. "But I pray that police find who did this because I'll tell you one thing, I won't rest until they find out who did it and bring them to justice."
An autopsy was planned for today.
Meantime, police have described the suspect as 6 feet tall, and wearing a black hoody and black pants. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
