Pgh. Foundation Takes Over Flight 93 Fundraising

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― The Pittsburgh Foundation is now taking over a fundraising campaign for the Flight 93 Memorial.

State Senator Jane Orie started the "Hearts Of Steel" campaign in 2001.

By 2003, the fund had collected more than a million dollars.

Because of federal reporting requirements, Orie put the money in a trust and stopped collecting donations.

But fundraising is allowed to resume now that the campaign has been turned over to The Pittsburgh Foundation.
