The investigation goes on as Pittsburgh Police look for the driver of an SUV that stuck a young man who was waiting for a bus home on Friday night on the South Side.
The accident happened around 11:40 p.m. on Friday on West Carson Street near Station Square.
According to investigators, 24-year-old David Hall, of Moon Township, was waiting for a bus home when he was struck by a total of three cars. He died a short time later due to his injuries.
"I don't know whether it has sunk in all the way yet," said the victim's father.
Police say Hall was speaking to a bus driver when he stepped back to return to the sidewalk and was struck by an SUV.
He fell to the ground and was then hit by two more vehicles.
The driver of two of the cars stopped after hitting Hall and returned to the scene, authorities say.
However, they add that while the driver of the first vehicle initially stopped he left the scene before police arrived.
The victim's parents, Bob and Jacqui Hall, say they believe the driver should turn himself in.
"I think he should give himself in," said Bob Hall. "We hold nothing against him."
"He's probably scared and we know that it was probably an accident," said Jacqui Hall.
That driver is believed to be a white male in his 30s, about 5' 6" to 5' 7" tall, with a stocky build and black hair.
That vehicle is described as a mid-sized, dark SUV that should now have damage to the front of it.
Hall was pronounced dead at the scene around 11:54 p.m.
His family says that Hall was developmentally delayed.
"Hyper-active, and he was loving and liked to help people," said Jacqui Hall. "We know that he is in heaven."
