Girl Charged In Fatal Fire To Stand Trial

BLAIRSVILLE (KDKA) ― A local teenager accused of setting a fire that killed her adoptive father will stand trial.

Codee Wheeler, 17, was charged as an adult after William Wheeler died in the Blairsville house fire in March.

During the preliminary hearing, a State police fire marshal testified accelerants were used to start the deadly fire.

He also said in court that no accelerants were found on Codee Wheeler's clothes that day.

Wheeler's adoptive mother believes her daughter did not start the fire.
