Exhibit Coming To Science Center Causing Concerns
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ―
A new exhibit coming to the Carnegie Science Center is raising some major concerns not only among the public, but also with some of the museum's employees.
"Bodies
The Exhibition" is scheduled to come to the Carnegie Science Center later this year in October and run through May 2008.
The exhibit comes from China, and it features 15 human body corpses peeled of their skin and set up in a number of varying poses.
Experts say the bodies were preserved through a process called plastination.
According to our news partners at the Post-Gazette, one Science Center employee has resigned over the exhibit.
The PG says 11-year employee, Elaine Catz, resigned last week over the news that the display would be coming to the Carnegie Science Center.
The exhibition also features 200 additional organs and partial specimens that have all been through the plastination process.
