Brian Wells was killed by a collar bomb.
Brian Wells' family did not appreciate the announcement from U.S. Attorney Mary Beth Buchanan that prosecutors believe Wells was in on a bank robbery that left him with a collar bomb around his neck.
They say Wells was innocent. That he was a murder victim not a bank robber.
Wells' three brothers, three sisters, and 79-year-old mother were all at the news conference Wednesday.
"Nineteen hours after the bomb had gone off, the federal authorities chopped his head off to get that collar off," said Brian's brother, John Wells. "Brian did not put that collar on himself. I'm sorry."
Wells' family says they'll continue to try to clear his name.
They've even set up a website proclaiming his innocence.
