After a night of celebration, the Steelers and their fans are putting the 2005 World Championship season behind them and focusing on the future!
The team accomplished what many thought was impossible winning three playoff games on the road to go on and win Super Bowl XL.
For many fans, the elation from that victory never really ended, but Sunday night, thousands of fans came to Heinz Field for one last hurrah.
Mike Logan, a defensive back for the Steelers, says he is still riding high from that win in Detroit.
"I'm still riding cloud 9," he said. "One thing coach the coach says we have to put this season in perspective right now. You know, we have to get on to another season and kind of put that in the past."
Focusing on the upcoming season is Coach Bill Cowher's priority. He told KDKA's Alison Morris at an awards ceremony in Washington DC Saturday, that last season was special but it's time to move on.
"I think you recognize what you did a year ago doesn't mean you're going to pick up where you left off there's going to be a lot of hard work and sacrifice will be needed," Cowher said.
The Steelers will get back to work starting Friday at training camp in Latrobe.
