Week 7: Vikings Vs. Steelers Preview

Steelers 2009 Season In Pictures

By: Casey Shea
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― The Pittsburgh Steelers will host the undefeated Minnesota Vikings (6-0) at Heinz Field on Sunday.

The Vikings are led by a potent combo of certain-Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre and the electric ground attack from Adrian Peterson.

Favre ranks 14th in the league in passing yards with 1,347, but has thrown 12 touchdown passes against only two interceptions. He has also completed just under 70 percent of his passes this season.

Peterson leads the league in rushing yards with 618 for an average of 103 per game. He ranks second in the league in rushing touchdowns with seven.

Minnesota nearly saw their undefeated season snapped, but Baltimore Ravens kicker Steven Hauschka missed a 44-yard field goal as time expired to preserve the streak.

The Steelers trail the all-time series by one game as Minnesota holds an 8-7 edge including playoffs.

Pittsburgh was able to win the last meeting by a score of 18-3 back on Dec. 18, 2005, on the road, but lost the last meeting at Heinz field 21-16 on Dec. 2, 2001.

Tickets for the game are in high demand as well, with some pairs of tickets going for over $900 dollars on eBay.

For the Steelers, Troy Polamalu is expected to play in the game, but how much is in question after sitting out Wednesday and Thursday's practices. He was able to return to practice on Friday, however.

The Steelers come into the game off a 27-14 win over the rival Cleveland Browns and are on a three-game winning streak.

The game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. and can be seen on Fox.
