Week 11: Steelers Vs. Chiefs Preview
By: Casey Shea
KANSAS CITY (KDKA) ―
The Pittsburgh Steelers (6-3) will take on the Kansas City Chiefs (2-7) on the road at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday.
After losing to division-rival Cincinnati 18-12 in Week 10, members of the Steelers including Ben Roethlisberger said the team just played a bad game.
The loss dropped them a game back of the Bengals in the AFC North Division, but Cincinnati holds the tie-breaker advantage after sweeping Pittsburgh this season.
Pittsburgh will get a great opportunity to shake off that bad game against a team that has struggled all season and only has two wins against sub-par teams.
After starting the season 0-5, the Chiefs knocked off the Washington Redskins 14-6 in Week 6.
Kansas City then lost to San Diego 37-7 and Jacksonville 24-21.
In Week 10, the Chiefs got an ugly 16-10 win over the lowly Oakland Raiders.
In that game, Jamarcus Russell completed only eight of his 23 passes for 64 yards. As a team, the Raiders were 2-for-16 on third down conversions.
Kansas City was actually worse in that category as they went 1-for-15 on third down.
Raiders' backup quarterback Bruce Gradkowski came into the game late and was 5-of-9 passing for 49 yards with two interceptions.
History may be on the side of the Steelers today as they hold a 17-8 all-time lead against the Chiefs.
The last time these two teams played was on Oct. 15, 2006, at Heinz Field. Pittsburgh won easily 45-7.
On the road against Kansas City, Pittsburgh holds a 9-4 advantage.
It was also announced earlier this week that Troy Polamalu will not play against the Chiefs, but he may play against the Baltimore Ravens next week.
Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. and can be seen on KDKA-TV.
