Week 6: Browns Vs. Steelers Preview

Pittsburgh Steelers News

By: Casey Shea
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― The Pittsburgh Steelers return home to Heinz Field today to take on a Cleveland Browns team that has struggled in their first season under Eric Mangini.

Cleveland (1-4) enters the game fresh off an ugly 6-3 win over the Buffalo Bills in Week 5.

In the all-time series, the Steelers hold a slight edge at 59-55. In recent history though, this series has been largely one-sided.

Pittsburgh has won the last 11 games against Cleveland with the last loss coming on Oct. 5, 2003. The Browns won that game 33-13 at Heinz Field.

The Steelers come into the game on a two-game winning streak after a 28-20 win over the Detroit Lions.

In the fourth quarter, the Lions pulled to within eight points and were threatening to score another touchdown with just over two minutes to play when the Steelers' defense stepped up and shut the door.

With Detroit sitting pretty at first-and-10 at the Pittsburgh 21 yard line, Lions quarterback Daunte Culpepper was sacked three straight times to kill any chance of a comeback.

If Heath Miller can find the endzone one time in the game, he will take over sole-possession of the team's record for touchdowns by a tight end. He is currently tied with Eric Green with 24.

The Steelers defense should get a much needed boost today as well. Star safety Troy Polamalu is expected to play after suffering a knee injury in the team's Week 1 victory over the Titans.

Kick-off is set for 1 p.m. and you can watch the game on KDKA.
