Tomlin: Reed Will Play Sunday

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin held his weekly press conference Tuesday afternoon and spoke about the team's upcoming game against the Minnesota Vikings as well as the Jeff Reed citation incident.

Despite Reed's citation from police, he is expected to play on Sunday. There had been speculation that Tomlin would sit him against the Vikings after he benched Santonio Holmes last season following his run-in with the law.

The Steelers also expect to have Troy Polamalu in the lineup again. Polamalu appeared to have tweaked his injured knee when he picked off a pass from Josh Cribbs on Sunday. He limped off the field, but did return to the game.

Rashard Mendenhall is also expected to play after suffering a bruised knee against the Browns.

Tomlin praised Vikings running back, Adrian Peterson, as one of the best in the world and quarterback Brett Favre as a hall of famer.

The Vikings narrowly avoided their first loss of the season against the Ravens on Sunday. Ravens kicker Steven Hauschka missed a 44-yard field goal as time expired to give the Vikings the win.

Favre threw for 278 yards and three touchdowns in the win and Peterseon rushed for 143 yards on 22 carries.
