Steeler Jeff Reed Cited At North Shore Bar

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― There's word that the NFL has launched an investigation after two members of the Steelers had a run-in with police on the North Shore.

Kicker Jeff Reed and TE Matt Spaeth were cited Sunday night outside McFadden's.

Reed was there with his family after the win against the Cleveland Browns.

At about 9 p.m., police in the area noticed Spaeth urinating beside a white SUV.

As officers approached Spaeth asking for ID, Reed got out of the passenger side of the SUV.

Police ordered him back into the car more than once, but Reed refused.

Then squaring up in front of a sergeant in a "fighting stance," Reed was wrestled to the ground and eventually cuffed. He was handed over to his father who was driving the white SUV.

Reed is facing four misdemeanor charges including, simple assault, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and public drunkenness.

He pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and criminal mischief last February after banging on an empty towel dispenser and using profanity at a New Alexandria convenience store.

Both the NFL and the Steelers organization say they are looking into the details of what happened last night and that there has been no determination as to whether any disciplinary action will be taken against Reed or Spaeth.
