Fathers, sons and daughters descended on Heinz Field this morning for a special event hosted by Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin.
The celebration was organized by the All-Pro Dad Group.
Organizers say it was about the dads getting to spend some time their children. There were tips for dads to become better fathers and a chance to make some memories.
"It's really just a lot of fathers and their children doing some activities with their kids and trying to get reconnected with them," said Jeff Koss, of Ebensburg.
Tomlin said it was a privilege to host the event.
"We all need encouragement to be fathers. I think things we do for a living take a lot of energy. We need to encourage one another to be our best at home," said Tomlin.
"I get energy and enthusiasm from hanging out with other fathers and watching them interact with other children," added Tomlin. "It's a source of inspiration for me."
The dads in attendance said they were happy to get some quality time with their children.
"You find out in your work schedule during the week, you don't have time to spend time with them. This is something where, I saw it on the Steelers website and I thought, you know, I can take a couple hours and go do it with them," said Ed Bloomer, of the North Side.
"I think it's good because there is a whole lot of kids who don't have fathers and this program brings fathers out for the cause saying this is something good for the kids," said Antwon Gibson, of Braddock.
