Steelers First Playoff Game Time, Date Set

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― Now that the NFL has wrapped its regular season, the Pittsburgh Steelers  know when they will be playing their first playoff game.

It will be on Sunday, January 11th at 4:45 p.m. at Heinz Field.

The only thing left to be determined is who their opponent will be.

It will be one of three teams -- Miami, San Diego or Indianapolis.

With a record of 12-4, many Steelers fans are reflecting on the season.

"A couple of those games we should have won," said fan Henrietta Gibbs.

Now, most Pittsburghers are focusing on the post season.

"Years past, defense always been a stronghold for the Steelers. This year the offense has struggled a little bit but going into the playoffs we have a good shot just based on our defense," said fan Neil Demi.

"Beyond my expectations.  I didn't think with the personnel that they had they would do as well but that's Pittsburgh for you," said fan Jim Manson.

It was a pretty solid season.

In fact, the Steelers improved by two wins from last season.

We hit the streets to find out who Pittsburghers wanted to see facing the men in black and gold this first game of the post season -- either the Miami Dolphins, the Indianapolis Colts or the San Diego Chargers.

"Well, we're going to play the Colts again and I want to see them play them again. I think we can beat them simple as that.  I don't care, we can get them.  We can get them," said Gibbs.

"It would be nice to play somebody that we hadn't played before.  The Dolphins are bums.  They're bums," said Manson.

Life long Steeler fan Neil Demi also wants to face Miami.

"I'd like to see Joey Porter come back to Pittsburgh. He's a favorite of mine and will always be. But I'd still like to beat them in the playoffs.  I think we'd definitely shut down their run attack and we've never had a problem with Chad Pennington in the past," said Demi.

Regardless of who the Steelers face, at least one Steeler is ready.

"We feel like we can play with anyone. We have the type of team that will accept any challenge and we work hard and we practice hard.  We have great coaches that get us in right situations at the right times," said Steeler Brett Keisel.

Remember to watch the game on KDKA-TV on January 11.
