Steelers Sign 1st Round Pick Mendenhall
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ―
The Steelers have signed top draft pick Rashard Mendenhall; and while the team has not yet confirmed another big signing, our news partners at the Post-Gazette say Wide Receiver Limas Sweed has also reached a deal with the team.
First round pick, running back Rashard Mendenhall, has reporteldy agreed to a five-year contract.
According to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Mendehall's contract is worth $12.55 million. He will also reportedly receive $6.83 million in bonuses.
Mendenhall is the first running back to have been drafted by the Steelers in the first round in 19 seasons.
This is the fourth consecutive season the Steelers have signed their number one draft pick in time for the start of training camp.
The PG is also reporting that the Steelers' second round pick, wide receiver Limas Sweed, has also agreed to a four-year deal.
The terms of his contract are unavailable.
