Rooneys May Vote Today On Ownership Issues

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― The Rooney family could be making important decisions today on the future ownership of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

On Monday, sources told KDKA that billionaire Stanley Druckenmiller had set a Friday deadline for his offer to buy the team.

Then, on Wednesday, Art Rooney, Jr. did confirm that talks are continuing between the brothers.

But when asked about the deadline, Rooney said, "There isn't one for me. I don't have any deadlines. I don't need that kind of stuff."

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette now reports that the four Rooney brothers may be taking a vote this afternoon on whether or not to except Druckenmiller's offer.

Meanwhile, Steelers Chairman Dan Rooney plans to try and match or come close to Druckenmiller's current offer, in an effort to keep the team in the family.

The NFL has said that they have not put a timetable on the sale.

Stay with KDKA for the latest developments.
