(KDKA) Speculation continues on whether Pittsburgh Steelers Chairman Dan Rooney could be named the next U.S. Ambassador to Ireland.

There is still no official word, but if that actually happens, the home he would have in Ireland would be pretty spectacular.

The idea that Rooney could become the next Ambassador to Ireland made Irish newspapers weeks ago.

However, at Pittsburgh American Ireland Fund Dinner Gala on Saturday, Rooney acknowledged the rumors, but wasn't saying much else.

"I'm not gonna comment on that…The talks all over the world," he told KDKA's Paul Martino.

While Rooney isn't talking, the New York Times has published pictures of the mansion in Dublin where the new ambassador, whoever it turns out to be, would take up residence.

The Times reported that the home has been recently refurbished, the entry way has an impressive staircase, reception rooms, a ballroom, dining room and, of course, a kitchen.

In all, the Times reports that the home is a staggering 28,000 square feet and sits on 62 acres.
