Dismissal Of Suit Against Roethlisberger Denied

RENO, Nev. (KDKA/AP) ― A Nevada judge denied a motion to dismiss the lawsuit accusing Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger in the sexual assault of a woman.

The judge also refused a request by Roethlisberger's attorney to sanction Andrea McNulty's attorney for pursuing the case without sufficient evidence.

In the order, the judge said the McNulty's attorney has "met the minimal standards required to avoid the imposition of sanctions" in his representation of the former VIP host at Harrah's Lake Tahoe.

Roethlisberger's lawyer says the judge is apparently giving the McNulty the "benefit of the doubt" until there can be a fuller examination of her claims.
