Alleged Victim Testifies In Davenport Trial

CLEVELAND, Oh. (KDKA) ― The trial of Steelers running back Najeh Davenport continued today in Cleveland, Ohio.

Davenport is facing charges stemming from an incident in Cleveland last October.

Investigators say he was attempting to pick up his son and he and the boy's mother allegedly got involved in some sort of scuffle.

Last week, the trial began with jury selection and opening arguments.

KDKA's Alison Morris reports that the mother of Davenport's son, Anita Person, testified today.

Also, the prosecution is arguing that the police did not handle the case correctly. A police officer testified that he did not fill out the proper paperwork and did not take pictures at the scene the night of the incident.

Meanwhile, court is expected to continue on Tuesday afternoon. So far, the only two witnesses expected to testify for the defense are Davenport and his current girlfriend.

If convicted, Davenport could face time in prison.
