Familiar Face Could Be In Steelers' Backfield

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― There could be a familiar face in the backfield for the Pittsburgh Steelers this weekend.

Our news partners at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette report that the Steelers are bringing back running back Najeh Davenport.

According to the report, the Steelers were working him out this morning and could make the announcement by the end of the day.

Davenport played with the team last season but he was released prior to training camp.

If signed, Davenport and perhaps another new running back would play Sunday night in Jacksonville against the Jaguars.

The Steelers are weak at running back after injuries to Willie Parker, Rashard Mendenhall and fullback Carey Davis.

Stay with KDKA for more.
