Roethlisberger Not Expected To Play Sunday

PG: Marvel Smith Also Out

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger is not expected to play in the team's last regular season game against the Baltimore Ravens.

Backup QB Charlie Batch says he will start on Sunday.  Roethlisberger sprained his ankle during last week's win against St. Louis.

According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, LT Marvel Smith is also out.  The PG's Gerry Dulac is reporting Smith, a 7-year starter, had back surgery Thursday.  Max Starks will start at left tackle.

The Steelers clinched the AFC North Championship title last weekend after Cincinnati defeated the Cleveland Browns.

They will have a home playoff game January 6.
