Roethlisberger Shows Up At Steelers Practice

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― The last time Steelers fans saw Ben Roethlisberger he was being carted off the field after taking a rough hit in Sunday's game.

But there was a Ben sighting on the South Side Tuesday, as he showed up at practice.

Ever mindful of the media, Roethlisberger gave cameras a good look at the back of his head, but it was the condition of inside of it that was of biggest concern.

As Head Coach Mike Tomlin has said countless times in his two years in Pittsburgh, injuries are as much a part of football as blocking and passing and concussions are no exception.

"I think a lot of people on this team suffered … endured some concussions. Tyrone Carter had one early in the game you know," said Troy Polamalu. "But it all depends on the severity. You know, you really don't understand the severity of each case but I'm confident that we have the best guys dealing with it … doctor … our training staff and they're very proactive in getting him right."

Even Tomlin, back in his playing days at William and Mary, had his bell rung on occasion.

"I've sustained several concussions playing football. I know that it's something that's initially scary and then uncomfortable, and then you get back to being yourself and you move on," he says. "I can't speak to what he's feeling because I'm not him."
