Alvarez Put On Restricted List At Pirates Request

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― The Pirates have announced that at their request Pedro Alvarez has been placed on the MLB's Restricted List.

Officials with the Pirates say they were informed by Alvarez's agent that he would not sign the contract they agreed on earlier this month.

According to the Pirates, Alvarez's agent told them that his client would not report to the team unless his contract was renegotiated for more money.
