Defenseman Jay McKee will be playing against some familiar faces when the Pens take the ice tonight at Mellon Arena.
McKee's former team, the St. Louis Blues, are in town for the only meeting between the two clubs this season.
There will also be a couple familiar faces for many of the other Penguins players.
Goaltender Ty Conklin signed with the Blues this summer, after losing to Pittsburgh in the Stanley Cup Finals as a member of the Detroit Red Wings.
In addition to Conklin, former Penguins defenseman Darryl Sydor signed with the Blues after being invited to training camp this summer.
Conklin may not see the ice because Chris Mason (1-2, 2.74 GAA, .904 save percentage) is expected to get the start in goal.
History may very well be on the side of the Pens tonight. In their last 12 games against the Blues at Mellon Arena, they hold a gaudy 9-2-1 advantage.
The Blues come into tonight's game off an impressive 5-0 win over the Anaheim Ducks Saturday night.
At 3-2-1, the Blues sit third in the Central Division and four points back of the Chicago Blackhawks.
St. Louis will enter the game a little banged up.
Captain Eric Brewer had offseason knee and back surgery and has not returned to the lineup yet. In addition, Barret Jackman and Alex Steen will also be out.
Steen suffered a broken wrist in the win over Anaheim and is expected to miss six-to-eight weeks and Jackman has a sprained ankle.
Marc-Andre Fleury will be in goal for the Penguins and will look to remain perfect. Entering tonight's game, Fleury is 7-0 with a 2.09 GAA and .922 save percentage. His seven wins lead all NHL goaltenders.
The puck is set to drop at 7 p.m. and will be televised on Versus.
