One Penguins superstar is getting closer to returning to the lineup with each passing day.
Game 7 hero, Max Talbot was on the ice for practice at Mellon Arena Monday morning for the first time since having surgery on his shoulder in July.
Talbot said he has been skating on his own for the last couple of weeks, but isn't going to rush coming back until the shoulder is fully healed and is optimistically aiming for a mid-December return.
Before returning to the ice Monday, Talbot was cleared to practice by a doctor. He is not participating in contact drills at this time.
At the time of the surgery he was expected to be out for four to six months. There has been no update on the timetable for his return to game action, but stepping on the ice for practice is a positive sign.
